Our FastTrack Testing service can help provide that information as quickly as possible when your patient needs to get to transplant urgently.

When you request FastTrack Testing for your patient, related donors or unrelated donors, you’ll receive allele-level HLA typing and other testing results from our ASHI-accredited contract lab in three business days or less. The lab receives samples 24/7/365.

You will receive a PDF lab report from our contract lab within three business days with HLA typing results including:

  • Intermediate resolution HLA-A, -B, -DRB1

Detailed test results

You can also request detailed tests including:

  • KIR and CCR5 Δ32 mutation
  • Antibody screening including PRA and single antigen
  • Virtual and physical T and B cell crossmatches
  • Chimerism with numerous cell subsets
  • Presumptive ABO and serology ABO/RhD

What is FastTrack Testing?

FastTrack Testing, previously known as Histocompatibility Testing, provides you with access to allele-level HLA confirmatory typing (CT) and other testing options for patients and donors (related and unrelated) with results in three business days or less. Having this critical information allows you to make treatment decisions quickly for patients who need to get to transplant urgently.

When should I use FastTrack Testing?

You can use FastTrack Testing for all of your HLA testing needs or to serve as a backup for your lab. This allows your program to have the HLA testing support you need at all times and decrease the time to get the necessary information to make treatment decisions.

Does my center have to sign a contract to use FastTrack Testing?

How much does FastTrack Testing cost?

We have negotiated flat-fee rates for FastTrack Testing through our contracted lab. Pricing for some of our most frequently requested tests include:

Which lab are you working with to provide testing services?

We contract with the American Red Cross (ARC) East Division HLA Services to provide FastTrack Testing services for our transplant centers. ARC maintains ASHI accreditation for all testing performed. ARC has a long history of working with transplant centers to provide HLA-CT testing and with the NMDP/Be The Match as a contract lab partner for recruitment typing and customized typing.

What is the turnaround time to get results back from the lab?

The lab will provide you with results in three business days or less from the time the sample arrives at the lab. The rapid turnaround time allows you to have the information you need to make treatment decisions sooner.

How do I receive the lab results?

You will receive results via a PDF lab report in three business days or less. The lab will automatically submit all confirmatory typing results for unrelated donor searches to the NDMP/Be The Match via electronic forms 117 and 22 within three business days, eliminating this step for your center.

Which HLA typing results are included in the report?

YHLA typing results include:

  • Allele-level HLA-A, -B, -C, -DRB1, -DRB345, -DQA1, -DQB1, -DPA1, -DPB1
  • Intermediate resolution HLA-A, -B, -DRB1
