GVHD Interactive Provider Network Virtual Learning Series
The National Marrow Donor Program®/Be The Match® is a GVHD Interactive Provider Network partner. The goal of the Interactive GVHD Provider Network is to connect specialists in graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) with community-based providers to share expertise and discuss cases in order to improve patient care.
The network is based on the ECHO Model™ (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes), which uses proven adult learning techniques and interactive video technology to connect community providers with specialists at academic centers in real-time collaborative sessions.
Physicians of all specialties, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals who treat patients with chronic GVHD are welcome to attend monthly case-based virtual presentations and discussions
One-hour virtual sessions are designed around case-based learning and mentorship to help primary care and community practitioners gain expertise in GVHD-related topics to provide needed services. Educational objectives are individualized per activity. Each session will include:
- A moderator to lead the program, introduce the speakers, and manage the discussion and questions
- Case presentation(s) presented by junior faculty or community provider(s)
- Senior level clinician(s) to provide a didactic presentation on the session topic
- Q & A and discussion with the panel and virtual participants
